The old Somerfield distribution centre covered an area of approximately 7.8 acres on which we obtained planning permission for 95 houses. On part of the site was a large warehouse which was divided into various units and was let out to local businesses within the area. This has since been demolished. Construction started in mid-2014 on the first phase of 24 houses followed by 10 houses in Phase 2.
After the successful sale of Phase 1 and 2 which was a combination of 34 four and five bedroom houses, we returned to the Council to submit a revised planning application for 84 residential properties to replace the approved remaining 61 residential units for Phase 3, which was subsequently accepted. These are a mixture of 2 bedroom apartments and 2/3 bedroom houses with associated parking, landscaping and public open space. These homes are targeted towards first time buyers and those looking to take their first step up in the property market.
